My name is Patricia Fay and I came to Leanness Lifestyle University as a fitness professional. I have certifications as a personal trainer, health coach and lifestyle fitness coach. I will admit I was feeling quite a bit of shame about knowing what to do but being unable to do it. In truth however it was the research into weight loss and fitness that earned those certifications.
Since my 20’s I have been thinking that the answer was in the next book or program and at 50 I had to face the fact that it was time to stop reading and settle down to do the work. I feel as if I have always struggled with weight, but my weight reached a peak of high 180’s during an unhappy marriage. From that time on and over the next 25 years I repeatedly gained and lost weight, all the while creating food and weight obsessions. If you have been stuck on this merry-go-round you know exactly what I’m referring to. I was miserable.
Back in 1999 I bought David Greenwalt’s first binder style book and have been aware of him since then. For some reason after reading about Lifestyle 180 on his website this past winter, it really stuck with me. I was frightened of two things:
- -committing to another diet that would just add to my weight obsession and
- -the high level of accountability.
But I just decided that this would be my last attempt.
I was not disappointed. Since I have accumulated such an education prior to this course I suffer from the “I already know that” syndrome or the “that’s not the most recent research so this person must be clueless” way of thinking. I decided to put that mindset on hold, open my mind and surrender to the process.
Now, 18 weeks later I’ve lost 26 pounds. I completed every assignment, every food journal and every minute of exercise.
I can’t believe how my life has changed and is now forming into the vision I had before I started. My mind is no longer tortured by my weight and I am happy to say I have worked hard. I’m in the place I wanted to be.
Before, I dreaded summer and all of those fun parties that came with it. This is the first summer I have looked forward to in years! That daily cloud over my head is gone and I have moments of pure joy created by living congruently with your purpose. It is nothing short of amazing.
I’m looking forward to taking a tropical vacaction to an island. Before losing the weight this would have been a skin-baring nightmare. Now I look at this as my freedom vacation that I’ve been waiting so long for.
I’m continuing on to the next-level course Lifestyle 218. I want to continue on with these healthy habits. I’m guarding my results like they are gold. To me they are gold because I can now advise my clients knowing in my gut that I live the lifestyle and I’m the real deal.
