Jenni has truly learned to focus on what she wants, not on what she fears or doesn’t want. Way to go Jenni and thank you for sharing a bit of your story with us.
One year ago today, I signed up for Lifestyle 180 and started on campus. I never dreamed I would be where I am today, maintaining a 65 pound weight loss. I was scared of everything, mostly of failing again.
Even after the surprise and initial shock of changing my nutrition, I could feel that something was different this time. Not only did I know what to eat, how to exercise but also I learned how to address my issues of binge eating and all the guilt and shame that comes with that addiction.
Many times, I would get on the scale and not believe I had another loss, and then another. I’ve had three new wardrobes in order to keep up with the weight loss and still be able to look professional at work. Now I’m wearing beautiful clothes and can pretty much wear whatever I want in any store.
But even more important is my improved health. I can run up a hill that I couldn’t even slowly walk up before without wheezing. I no longer have joint pain or swelling in my hands. My blood pressure is stellar. And I’m happy. I never really realized how unhappy I was before.
Thanks to David Greenwalt, Lifestyle 180 and all of you for the support and encouragement over the past year! See you around campus!
