“I’m just training for life.” Ken is a graduate of my course and has lost over 60 pounds. He was recently asked a question that struck him in a really cool way. Love his perspective and, with his permission I’m sharing with you.
He wrote …
Friday is one of the days I do interval training on the spin bike. Now that school has started, I have to do it during a spin class. The spin class was doing their thing while I was working my tail off with my heart rate almost at its max. One of the spinners commented on what I was doing and I told her it was my interval day. She then said “are you training for something?”
That caused me to pause and I didn’t really know how to answer the question. I thought for a moment and answered that “I’m just training for life.” After another minute I joked that I’m also training for the pizza I’m having this weekend. Lol!
What was really cool though is that someone thought that I was training for some event. It brought a smile to my face and an overwhelming sense of pride. I was just working out like I always do. Would this have happened to me sixty pounds ago before L180? Not a chance! I couldn’t do interval training unless I had an EMT unit on standby.
I’ve had so many moments where I’ve wondered: “is this my body? Are those really my arms? Did I really keep my heart rate that high?” All I can tell those of you who doubt this process. Have faith and keep at it. This wonderful course David has created will get you where you want to go. Focus on what you want and persist without exception!
Ken is a childhood friend who now looks very much like he did back in high school! His posts on Facebook have motivated me to check out LLU and keep working on my journey to a healthier self. Way to go, Ken!
