Great question, a common question and believe it or not you probably don’t need more discipline or will power. You most likely need more WHY power.
There’s an inverse relationship between how powerful the reasons are for you wanting to do anything (your WHY) and how hard it is. If your WHY is weak or non-existent? You’ll false start constantly and every part of the change process, including temptations, will feel hard. If your WHY is incredibly well formed and powerful then the process of change can feel nearly effortless.
Your WHY is the core, the heart of the matter and if you have a burning desire to change or want to create one, that burning desire originates in your WHY. What are the real reasons that you want to change? Those reasons are your WHY.
If your why is strong enough you’ll find a way and if it’s not you’ll find an excuse, so it is critical that you uncover and develop a really strong WHY.
In addition to a killer WHY I’ll just say something that really can be, and is, an entire course of material so forgive my brevity. Dump the sugar and the processed junk. Ya, it’ll SUCK for a few days but you’ll find the cravings and longing for temptations goes WAY down in about a 72-hour period. If you can weather the storm for three days, and you REALLY don’t fudge with nibbles, licks, bites, tastes and sips of sugar/junk/non-food the clouds will part and you’ll see it gets much easier.
Combine a really strong WHY + elimination of triggers/addictive garbage and you’ll be amazed how “easy” the process can be.
