On February 25th, 2009 Zach Krych suffered a catastrophic injury while training as a top Olympic-style weight lifter. Zach had been using deadlift straps to make gripping the bar easier. This turned out to be a huge mistake. While performing hang-squat cleans Zach lost his balance, fell over backwards and as he did, unable to let go of the bar, his elbows hit the ground snapping his wrists.
In this video Zach catalogs the actual injury as it occurred – it was caught on film – and his eventual recovery.
