This is actually a true story – happened to me this past weekend while I was staying in a hotel.
It’s 7am, time for breakfast. The hotel has free continental breakfast so it’s oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs for me. Ya, I toss the yolks. Got a problem with that? ๐
I’m going to a training seminar and know we’ll be doing classroom and practical hands on as well so I’m wearing a black Nike short sleeve and training pants.
As is about normal for me I have to make 2-3 trips to the food/drink area usually because I’ve forgotten something like napkins or a fork or water or whatever.
In one of my trips back to the counter one old man among a table of seniors (at least 75 years of age each) leans back in his chair and I notice him as he says “Excuse me – could you do me a favor?” I was ready and willing to go get him a napkin or whatever the hell he wanted. It would have been a pleasure. But instead, as I digress, he says “Do me a favor would ya?” and I said “Sure, what do you need?” and he says “Get in shape okay? You’re looking a little soft.”
Then their whole table laughed and I laughed too of course. He then, being the quick-wit he was just said “Just work on it okay?” to which I just said “I tell ya what, for you? Just for today? I’m gonna workout for a change.”
It was cute. ๐
Old people crack me up. Much respect
