For this edition of Feel-Good Friday I’ve got a video that I think you are just going to love! It was put together by a very well-respected trainer of trainers Martin Rooney. I am actually attending a Martin Rooney weekend seminar event this weekend and he’s one of the few people I’d actually spend MY money to go listen to about training.
Martin created this cute and funny video, which you have to watch, to drive home the point that all of us who choose health and vitality over disease and lethargy are faced with resistance. Even so? Facing this resistance head on, properly armed and ready for battle with the right knowledge and suite of support is worth it. There is no bigger drive-it-home example that choosing the sometimes harder path (health and vitality) is worth it than seeing how our lifestyle choices affect our children’s choices.
Watch this video – I bet you’ll bust a gut at least once. My favorite moment? “It’s pumpkin time!”
Runner carries injured foe half mile to help in middle of race
Josh Ripley didn’t have to stop. Running in a recent cross country meet for Andover (Minn.) High, the junior varsity runner was making his way through the trail at the Applejack Invite when he heard a loud scream during the first mile of a two-mile race. Most of the other kids running didn’t pay much attention to Lakeville South runner Mark Paulauskas, who was writhing in pain at the time, as they passed by.
What happened is Ripley saw an injured, bleeding runner on a competing team during a cross-crountry race. Not only did he stop to help but he picked the runner up and carried the runner a half-mile so others could take over! Holy crap! Then, get this, Ripley went on and finished the race!
It’s videos like Martin’s and stories shared about good people like Ripley that keep me believing that although the world tries to show me on a daily basis how bad it sucks it’s really got a LOT of cool, positive things to offer.
